The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is a Global Humanitarian Organization of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church established in 1984 for the specific purposes of Community Development and Disaster Relief.
ADRA South Africa partners with communities, donors, other non-governmental organizations (NGO's), and the Government of South Africa to improve the quality of life for thousands around the country.
ADRA seeks to demonstrate Gods love and compassion, serving people without regard to their ethnic, political, or religious association, around the world through four core portfolios:

Health
In this portfolio ADRA SA seeks to contribute towards the health and well-being of the nation through promotion of child health and reduction of under 5 child mortality rate; promotion of maternal health; capacitating vulnerable communities to combat epidemic outbreaks resulting from environmental degradation; building communal resilience against regional diseases such as Malaria and reduction of lifestyle denominated ailments such as HIV and Aids, diabetes, hypertension; heart diseases through health promotion, education and advocacy.

Education
Through this portfolio, ADRA SA endeavors to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning, amongst others, through advocacy, increased access to education and mainstreaming of girl-child and the disabled children to realize their educational dreams.

Livelihood
ADRA SA seeks to Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all through focused attention on agricultural development, development of human economy and taking advantage of the 4th industrial revolution.
